Marist Music

Michael Herry is a Marist Brother working as a pastoral musician, mainly in the Melbourne Archdiocese. Br Herry writes scripture-based chants specifically for the Christian calendar.  Brother Herry is passionate about the interface between music and prayer and the challenge it offers us as Christians sharing the Good News.

Day 20 Friday Oct 3rd

Some won't believe this but I'm sitting in my room,  having stripped the bed and tidied up. I was heading for the door ages ago, but was an hour early. Anyway I am very happy to be moving on.(No reflection on the brothers here... They've been great)  But it's good to be on my way.

I've just photoed my pack with my boot up against it so it's a true indication of the size. It's minimum size and weight, about 7 - 8 kg I'd guess.

Today heading for Ponferrada where there's another brothers' community but I've decided to stay in a hotel for 2 nights as it's very central and close to everything in the old town.  Many Spanish towns really divide into two; the very old part, always with church, town square and very narrow and winding streets and sometimes bits of ancient walls,  and then outside this, the rest of the modern town. Off to the train station (estacion de trenes)...... but as my Spanish course says,  make it sound Spanish!!!  Adios, Miguel
